The purpose of the "Vehicle and its Components" module is to help students develop the knowledge of vehicle components and how it leads to safe driving and a motor vehicle's legal usage.
Module Objectives:
The "Vehicle and its Components" module's main objective is to teach students about the vehicle's various components.
Everyone must take a personal responsibility to have adequate knowledge about the vehicle and its components. Drivers play a vital role in preventing a crash. Knowing the safety and handling of the vehicle will contribute to the safety of all road users.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing this module successfully, students will acquire the following skills and knowledge:
- Students will learn about the vehicle and its components and the purpose of various components
- Students will learn how to locate and identify critical components like Ignition switch, Lever/Geafshift for transmission, steering wheel, accelerator, brake pedals, clutch pedals (manual transmission, parking brake, airbags and other new gadgets.
- Students will learn how to locate and identify the various components of the vehicle such as instruments and warning indicators, safety devices, control devices, anti-thefts and communication devices
- Students will learn the importance of pre-trip checks that includes both internal and external checks
- Students will learn about the routine pre-trip checklist for better control and safety before the trip
- Students will learn the importance of safety devices, seat settings, mirrors and steering wheel handling
